History
1929 | Shinjiro Yasuda founded Strong Shoukai in Osaka City, the first enterprise to perform boring of automobile engine cylinders and manufacturing of various pistons. |
1938 | The Cylinder boring machine and sleeve tools are developed. |
1939 | Strong Shoukai, Shinjiro Yasuda’s private enterprise, is incorporated. |
1940 | The previously developed cylinder boring machine and sleeve tools are being produced. |
1944 | Because of war, the company is forced to move the factory to Kasaoakamachi (currently Kasaoka City), Okayama prefecture. The company name is changed to Yasuda Kogyo Co. (YASDA PRECISION TOOLS K.K.) |
1945 | YASDA suspends operation temporarily as the war ends. |
1946 | The production of cylinder boring machines is resumed. |
1960 | YASDA joins the Japan Machine Builder’ Association. |
1961 | The assembly workshop is completed. The automatic honing machine is developed. |
1962 | The director of Small and Medium Enterprises Agency designates the company’s factory as the model for small and medium enterprises’ streamlined factory (followed by six consecutive designations). A part of the Sasayama factory (currently the head office and factory) is completed. The R&D facility is established in the Tomioka Plant. |
1964 | The Jig Master (precision horizontal boring/milling machine) is developed. |
1966 | The Precision Center (machining center) is developed. |
1968 | The first and second stages of the construction of the Sasayama factory (currently the head office and factory) are completed. |
1969 | The head office and factory are moved to ex- Sasayama factory, Satosho-cho, Okayama. Both jig / tooling and service divisions are separated and Yasuda Engineering Service Company is founded to perform these in the Tomioka Plant. |
1970 | Shinjiro Yasuda is awarded the Fifth Order of the Rising Sun with Twin Lights for his development of boring machine technologies. YASDA and Sundstrand Corporation, U.S.A. sign the technical transfer agreement for spindle tool supporting mechanism and device. |
1971 | The Smaller Enterprises Research Center Prize is awarded. |
1972 | The paid-in capital is increased to 40.5 million yen. |
1976 | Yukihuiko Yasuda becomes the president. |
1977 | The technologies for manufacturing the machining center YBM-70N is transferred to a company in Romania. |
1978 | The Machining center YPC45 receives the 8th “Machine Design Award” by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper company. |
1980 | The head office & factory are expanded. The technologies for manufacturing the machining center YBM-90N is transferred to a company in Hungary. The Precision Center YPC-50V is developed jointly with Kankoku Toitsu Sangyo. |
1983 | The technologies for manufacturing the machining center YPC-30 is transferred to Bridgeport Machines Limited, U.K.. “Science and Technology Agency director general prize” is awarded. |
1986 | The construction of the temperature controlled assembly plant is completed in the head office. Licenses to Bridgeport machines Limited, U.K., the technologies for manufacturing the machining center YPC-45H. |
1989 | The corporate identity program is introduced, celebrating the 60th anniversary. |
1991 | The integrated sheet metal and coating and temperature controlled assembly plants are expanded and precision metrology room is newly built. |
1995 | Yukihiko Yasuda is awarded Medal with Yellow Ribbon for invention of high precision machining center. |
2000 | The 2nd factory building of headquarter is completed. |
2001 | The manufacturing technology related to the machining center “H40” is transferred to KONDIA, Spain. |
2005 | The machining workshop is completed in the 2nd factory. |
2006 | The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry selects YASDA as one of 300 energetic small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises. |
2007 | Yukihiko Yasda is awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for development and manufacturing of ultrahigh precision machining center. The Jig Master “YBM50J-S” is selected for the Best Technical Award at “The 9th Award for Machine Tools with Historic Value” by the Museum of Industrial Technology, Nippon Institute of Technology. |
2008 | YASDA PRECISION TOOLS (SHANGHAI) is established. |
2009 | The 3rd factory building of headquarters (highly temperature controlled assembly plant) is completed. Takuto Yasuda is appointed President and Yukihiko Yasuda is appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors. |
2011 | YASDA PRECISION TOOLS (SHANGHAI) established an office in Dongguan, China. |
2012 | YASDA PRECISION TOOLS (SHANGHAI) established an office in Dalian, China. |
2013 | Solar power panels are installed on the roof of the 3rd factory. Yukihiko Yasuda is appointed as a senior advisor. |
2016 | The 3rd factory is expanded. The second assembly plant and shipping area are completed in the 2nd factory. |
2017 | The 5th factory and showroom are completed. |
2023 | YASDA PRECISION TOOLS (SHANGHAI) established an office in Chengdu, China. |
2024 | YASDA Europe GmbH is established. (transition from a representative office) |
